Happy Friday, friends! We survived January, and that is something to celebrate. With the month of love currently upon us, I thought it only fitting to share a few products and items I’m currently “loving.” I hope you find something on this list to gift, try, or share!
This small but mighty item has made all the difference lately! I have a tendency to drop my phone at least once a day and since attaching this gorgeous leather strap to my Moment photo case I have had zero drops. It’s basically the perfect item for on-the-go, hands-free mode. This leather strap has even become the life-line for quickly locating my phone in my purse or coat pocket. Not to mention it’s durable and weathers life well.
While YES, I absolutely love Young Living’s Savvy Minerals makeup line and wear it daily, there are times when a little extra liquid coverage on my “spots” is a necessity. Literally a pin-sized amount covers anything I want to conceal! It’s free of petroleum, phthalates, talcum, dimethicone, and parabens—with no added synthetic fragrance.
THIS. We read this book as part of our RYT-200 yoga teacher training program recently and it was completely eye-opening for me! I can’t recommend it enough. Malcolm Gladwell explains the famed “10,000 hours rule” and examines the lives of several “outliers” by taking an in-depth look at contributing factors in the making of some of the most successful, famous, and brilliant souls. What we often perceive as contributing to success may not necessarily be accurate. If you’ve ever wondered why Asians are good at math or why the Beatles became one of the greatest rock bands, this book is for you. It’s hard for a book to “hook me,” but this one had me from beginning to end and brought up so many points I hadn’t previously considered.
These racks make my inner OCD-self oh-so-happy. Keeping all the oils out in plain sight makes them that much easier to use and diffuse, not to mention seeing the colors adds fun to a space. I love using these racks on the side of my refrigerator or in the laundry room for convenient, neat storage.
“The Red Drink”
This easy little concoction has become my go-to afternoon drink. I try to drink lots of water during the day—especially during the afternoon lull—but this tasty drink full of “all the good stuff” makes it a little bit easier. I have actually started to crave this drink on the daily!
- 30 oz of filtered water
- 1-2 oz of Ningxia Red
- 1 tsp of sulfurzyme powder
- 3 drops of Lime Vitality essential oil
Mix all of the ingredients together, drink, and you’re done. It’s as easy as that! Just be sure to avoid any plastic cups or straws when using essential oils, as they can cause leaching of plastic products. These glass straws work great, and come with their own cleaning brushes!
Let’s examine the value of these key ingredients a bit…
Ningxia Red is a wolfberry supplement and is rich in antioxidants. You can read all about it here.
Sulfurzyme powder (not capsules) contains a prebiotic to promote healthy digestion, and combines wolfberry powder with MSM (methylsulfonylmethane) to promote detoxification and elimination of heavy metals. Basically, MSM is an organic form of sulfur found in many foods and easily absorbed by the body. The idea is that by adding a sulfur group to heavy metals, MSM converts them into a less toxic form which the body can then remove more easily. A note to all the sulfa-allergic people out there—“sulfa” and “sulfur” are not the same thing. MSM is considered safe for people with a sulfa allergy, with very little risk for side effects. However, if you develop a rash or any other type of allergic reaction you should stop using MSM immediately and consult a healthcare professional.
Lime Vitality essential oil provides acidity and high vitamin C content which promotes healthy digestion and improves immune function. Truth: I sometimes forget to add my lime vitality oil.
I hope this list finds you well! What items or products are you currently using and loving? I’d love to hear about them!
Live well, by design.
