This charming 1920s French floral still life features a bouquet of warm yellow and ochre blooms arranged in a deep blue vessel beside an open book. Painted in soft, muted tones with a relaxed painterly quality, the composition carries an inviting warmth and understated character.
Signed lower right “M. Rémond,” the work is painted on board and housed in a vintage frame with a painted inner liner. The reverse retains a French supplier label reading “À La Palette d’Or – Carton Esquisse – R. Blanchet, Paris,” which loosely translates to “The Golden Palette – Sketch Board – R. Blanchet, Paris.”
The mellow palette and timeworn finish give the piece an effortless collected feel, equally suited for layering on a shelf, leaning atop a console, or incorporated into a gallery wall arrangement.
