A sculptural 20th-century Italian marble box sourced in Milan, formed in richly veined black stone with dramatic cream, white, and warm gold markings. The rounded body is topped with a fitted circular lid and spherical marble finial, with coloring and veining visually consistent with Portoro marble.

Italy, 20th century
Condition
Good vintage condition consistent with age. The marble shows light surface wear, scratches, small abrasions, and natural variations inherent to the stone. Faint circular adhesive residue from previously applied protective pads remains to the underside. New small protective felt pads have been added to the base.
