Details

Crafted around 1900 and thought to be American, this unique Arts & Crafts hall chair is made from solid oak and features a botanical cut-out motif on the backrest. Its dramatic scale and vertical form give it a strong sculptural presence—ideal as a punctuation piece in an entryway, hallway, or layered vignette.

The chair’s clean geometry and honest construction highlight the movement’s emphasis on craftsmanship and material integrity.

Origin

United States, c. 1900

Condition

Very good antique condition with surface markings consistent with age and use, particularly on the back panel. Structurally sound, with what appears to be a historical repair to one leg—barely visible and stable.
