Details
These antique sterling silver grape shears were crafted in London in 1839 by silversmiths Charles Rawlings & William Summers, a partnership recognized for their exceptional cast silverwork and finely detailed serving implements.
The handles feature an elegant, interlaced vine-inspired form with crisp engraved texture and sculptural depth—a hallmark of Rawlings & Summers’ craftsmanship. The blades retain their original tapered shape, opening and closing smoothly with a beautifully balanced feel in hand.
A superb example of early Victorian silverwork—refined, collectible, and striking styled on a bar tray, beside a fruit or cheese service, or displayed as an object of craftsmanship. Fully hallmarked for London, 1839.
