This vintage lion door knocker features a bold, deeply cast form with a pronounced mane, expressive facial features, and a sculptural wreath-style ring. Substantial in scale and presence, the piece was likely cast in iron or bronze, with aged patina throughout. Each one brings historic charm and substance to the door—or can be styled off the wall as art.
Its detailed modeling and solid weight suggest it was originally made for an oversized door or entry gate. While the original mounting screws are not present, each knocker remains intact showing generous surface character and historic wear. Mounting hardware not included.
We have four available, all acquired from the same source in England. Each is sold individually, and while nearly identical in form, there are subtle variations in surface aging and coloration from piece to piece. Please note if you have a preference and we’ll do our best to accommodate.
