This early 19th-century Spanish walnut armchair features a restrained architectural form with subtle carved detailing throughout, including shaped arm supports and a hand-carved lower apron. The chair retains its original leather seat and back with beautifully aged patina, visible wear, and original nailhead detailing throughout.
The walnut frame retains a richly aged surface with visible variation, wear, and historic worming consistent with the chair’s age and use. The contrast between the warm walnut frame and heavily patinated leather gives the piece a strong sculptural presence while preserving the authenticity and character associated with early Spanish seating of the period.
Best suited as an occasional or accent chair where its sculptural form, original materials, and historical character can be appreciated rather than for heavy everyday lounging use.

Condition
Good antique condition consistent with age and use. Original leather sling seat and back exhibit substantial age-related wear, cracking, losses, surface breakdown, and patina throughout, particularly across the seat, arms, and back. Walnut frame exhibits historic worming, age-related wear and losses, variation, and surface irregularities consistent with age and hand construction. Original nailhead detailing remains present throughout. Structurally sound overall; however, due to the age and condition of the original leather, the chair is best suited for decorative or occasional use.
