Details
A vintage oil on board depicting an abundant floral arrangement in pale pink, cream, burgundy, and yellow, set against a dark background. Thick brushwork gives the flowers and foliage substantial texture and dimension, anchored by a deep teal vessel.
Signed at lower right and housed in a pale blue painted wood frame with a narrow metallic gold-painted inner trim. Sourced in Venice, Italy.
Please note that the frame and painted surface shift somewhat with lighting; both natural-light and studio images are included to show the variation in color and surface.
Origin
Europe
Condition
Vintage condition consistent with age. The painted surface shows surface variation, scattered abrasions, small losses, and areas of pronounced textured brushwork and impasto throughout. A small area of loss to the board is visible at the upper right corner and is shown in the listing photographs.
The pale blue painted wood frame appears to be later and shows minor surface wear, scattered marks and abrasions, and natural variation to the painted finish. The metallic gold-painted inner trim shows minor wear and irregularity. The reverse of the painting has been reinforced with later tape around the perimeter. The hanging hardware appears to be later.
