Details

An original etching by American artist Edith Derry Willson, Live Wires features two finely rendered wire fox terriers, their expressions full of character and detail. The work is signed and titled in pencil in the lower margin, and presented behind glass in a thin gilt frame with a wide archival mat.

Though Willson remains relatively obscure, her animal etchings—particularly of dogs—have been exhibited and auctioned internationally. This specific piece was purchased in the Cotswolds. The back is fully sealed, ready to hang.

Origin

United States, early 20th century

Condition

Excellent vintage condition overall, with very minor age toning to the paper. The frame and glass show light wear.
