This substantial mid-century French landscape painting depicts a clustered mountain village set beneath layered blue peaks and rolling countryside. Executed in a richly textured impasto technique, the work balances architectural structure with expressive movement and painterly depth.
The palette — soft slate blues, muted ochres, olive greens, and earthy neutrals — gives the piece a distinctly European sensibility while allowing it to integrate beautifully into both traditional and contemporary interiors. Angular rooftops, elongated forms, and graphic linework evoke the influence of Bernard Buffet, mid-century French expressionism, and a restrained Brutalist sensibility.
