A Swedish Art Deco Argenta vase designed by Wilhelm Kåge for Gustavsberg, dating to 1939. The rounded stoneware form features Argenta’s characteristic mottled emerald-green glaze, scattered silver floral motifs, and silver banding at the foot, neck, and rim.
Introduced at the 1930 Stockholm Exhibition, Kåge’s Argenta series became one of Gustavsberg’s most recognizable art pottery lines, pairing richly colored green glazes with silver decoration.
Fully marked to the underside with Gustavsberg, Argenta, Kåge, a model number, and the date code “I,” corresponding to 1939.

Condition
Vintage condition consistent with age. In good overall condition with light surface wear, including minor scratches to the body. The silver decoration and banding show tarnish and tonal variation consistent with age. The underside shows surface wear and discoloration. No chips or cracks observed. Fully marked to the underside.
